Salute to a Soldier

Steve's brother, Paul is leaving shortly for Afghanistan. He will be there for a year. This is his second tour of duty. He served in Iraq shortly after the fall of Saddam Huessain. Paul's family will be close by in our basement apartment for a few months. Steve and Paul's nephew Josh will be going with him. The war is not over, nor may it ever be. Let's always remember our soldiers in our prayers as we pray for peace in this world.

The cutting edge of fashion? or over the edge?

These are images you'll only get on this site. Be thankful.

See the trailer for the new movie about Emma Smith

http://www.candlelightmedia.com/emma/index2.html

A movie about Emma is coming out in March. The same actors as in the church movie on Joseph Smith play the parts. I've always had a special caring in my heart for Emma because of all she went through.

New Beginnings

Many of you know that I'm the Young Women leader in our branch. Soon we will present the yearly program for the parents called "New Beginnings". We present it at the beginning of each year to remind the girls and their parents about the purpose of the Young Women program and to get them excited about setting spiritual and temporal goals. With the passing of President Hinkley and the sustaining of President Monson, we experience a type of New Beginning. I hope we can all reflect on what President Hinkley has asked us to do and look forward to how President Monson leads and guides us and use this time as a New Beginning, to start fresh and to become all that we are meant to be.
